This year marks Seed's first year as a new organisation. We have been busy setting our foundations to ensure we are set up for success, while leading impact work across our key pillars: campaigns, organising and communications.
We are now gearing up to move away from a period of consolidation, and into a period of pure growth and even more impact!
Your support is integral to power the work we do at Seed.
Elevating the voices of First Nations people
Through creative storytelling and media, we will shift the narrative to centre First Nations voices and solutions in the national climate conversation.
Next year, we will do this by:
Redeveloping our website to become an accessible hub for storytelling, training resources and opportunities to take online action
Equipping volunteers and staff with the skills and confidence to be spokespeople for Seed
Diversifying our media strategy.
Leading Campaigns for Climate Justice
We will continue to campaign for a ban on fracking in the Northern Territory - and beyond!
We do this by:
Organising and working with First Nations young people and communities on the frontlines of fossil fuel projects to lead actions targeting decision makers to invest in a sustainable future, while mobilising our network and supporters to act in solidarity and amplify the calls to action.
Next year we will also continue our focus to stop public funding being funnelled into dangerous fracking projects.
Training and Movement Building
By hosting transformative events and training programs to grow the skills, capacity and size of Seed’s grassroots volunteer network.
Next year, we will do this by:
Hosting regional training camps across the country to empower and educate hundreds of new and existing volunteers
Launching Seed's schools program
Holding intensive trainings for our volunteer leaders, so they have what they need to support their local groups to grow in both size and impact
Continuing to build the foundations of Seed
Growing the size and capacity of our staff team and strengthening our structures and systems to enable long-term growth, impact and sustainability.
Next year, we will do this by:
Developing a 3 year strategic plan through deep consultation with our communities
Recruiting more passionate First Nations young people to our staff team, including a CEO!
Continuing to diversify our fundraising to ensure we are sustainable as a newly formed organisation
As we continue to see the effects of climate change across the country, we know that it’s only through a huge, diverse social movement led by those with the most at stake, that we will see the changes that we need - 2022 has been huge but 2023 needs to be even bigger and bolder.
That’s why in 2023, we’ll continue to grow and skill-up our network of young mob working together to lead campaigns that protect our land & culture and build strong, resilient, sustainable communities. We’ll continue to support communities on the frontlines of fossil fuel extraction to fight back against the corporate greed that is fueling the climate crisis.
While this year has seen many wins, we know the fight is not over. We know that we must ramp up the pressure on our governments and fossil fuel corporations.
Investing in our growing volunteer network
Engaging our community in long-term strategic planning
Elevating the stories and voices of First Nations communities
Expanding and building the capacity of our leadership and staff team
